Papers, papers, papers...
We are now incorporated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have bylaws, and an EIN. We are in the process of filling out Form 1023 to become a 501(c)(3) organization. This is the painful part of the process. It isn't particularly difficult, but it does take a lot of time. The instruction form is 38 pages long and in the interest of saving trees we have been trying to toggle back and forth between the on-line instructions and the actual form. In this case paper would be much easier to reference, but we just don't want to kill more trees. We still have to complete another form for the AG's office if we want to solicit donations (and we do!). Back to the bureacracy...oh, and the title of this post is a reference to Menotti's "The Consul".
